Why We’re Here

Simply put, we want to make fun and exciting video games. We’re not here to try and dazzle you with fancy graphics or buzz words. We just want you to enjoy our games.

History

We officially started this thing on February 29th, 2008 in our spare time, but the history truly starts years earlier in college. Check it out.

So back in 2005, six students all began their first classes at Full Sail University. It used to be called Full Sail Real World Education, but that’s a whole ‘nother story. Full Sail is a different kind of university where you go to class for forty hours a week. On top of this and the late schedules, you also have projects. If you fail a class, you’re required to take it again next semester, and this means that you won’t be graduating with the same class anymore. It’s pretty challenging for someone who doesn’t already have a background in computer science. In fact, in our first class they told us that it was pretty much a guarantee that we wouldn’t be able to form the same groups for Final Project, the five month game project at the end of the program, as we would be able to form in this first class.

We proved them wrong. We studied our asses off and were able to stick together. Then we busted our asses again in Final Project to create a game called Madcap. Madcap was based on the simple gameplay principle that blowing things up was fun. So we created a game where you could blow up buildings with a giant robot. You could blow up other giant robots. Robot parts, glass, and concrete were flying everywhere. Fun was had by all. That’s when some of us realized that we worked pretty well together. Two of us decided that we had to keep this going. We had to make games.

That’s just what we did. On February 29th, 2008 we had our first official design meeting for Binary Solo. The logistics are still being worked out. The projects are constantly being redefined. We hope that you’ll stick around and enjoy the show.

P.S.

Yes. We got our name from the Flight of the Conchords song.
